I read an article recently from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency about the importance of using non-toxic tackle to protect the common loon. Ingesting lead sinkers is the cause of death of up to 20% of loons, which inspired me to read up a little more about their habitat and methods of finding food. The resulting illustration depicts a day in the life of our enchanting state bird, a symbol of the wilderness worth protecting.
