Perched on the Creek

My son has been very into turtles lately. I wanted to play off the stylistic looseness of some of his picture books to make an energetic composition about the little moments of connection that happen around us in nature. Painted turtles are just so weird and cool, and the perfect setting for this one felt like Minnehaha Creek, an important little natural feature that feels so iconic to our city.
