The Painted Lady

The Painted Lady is a common butterfly found around Minnesota, and linked to the Aster flower as a primary food source. Asters bloom end of summer and into fall, providing some of the last nutrients to butterflies migrating south. The close relationship between these two natural beauties inspired me to bring them together in an autumnal gradient block print.
