I’ve been drawn to the Lake of the Isles and the chain of lakes ever since I moved to Minnesota. My father grew up here and unfortunately he passed away when I was fifteen years old. He grew up right up the street from the Lake of the Isles and wandered the shoreline. He canoed through and under the bridges just as I’ve done. It’s a connection that I feel with him, and as I think to the distant future I imagine that there will be someone centuries from now who may do the same. A wanderer exploring the memories and efforts of others, wondering what it was like back then.
